Description

Welcome to the Human Services Financial Health Professional Certification Program. This online course is one of several online components in this program. The topic of this course is Development of Financial Health Throughout Childhood.

This course will help you to understand the developmental processes and learning opportunities that occur between ages three and the mid-twenties that are fundamental to financial health in adulthood.

It’s good to remember that teaching children how to use money isn’t the most important skill to focus on; helping them understand how to think about concepts like money, and learning that they can talk with you about complicated and frustrating subjects, is far more important.

After taking this course, you will be able to:

  • Consider various ways you and your clients can guide children and young adults toward financial health
  • Apply an understanding of child development to help shape a child’s attitudes, beliefs and behaviors about personal economics, and
  • Complete activities with children that support learning about money

Certificate

By completing/passing this course, you will attain the certificate FHI Certificate
