Description

Welcome to the Human Services Financial Health Professional Certification Program. This online course is one of several online components in this program. The topic of this course is Negotiation. 

During this 10th section of the program, we’ll discuss the process of negotiation. The course covers situations where negotiation is possible or useful, helpful questions to answer before negotiating, compliance gaining tactics that collectors tend to use, and information on consumer rights. The course presents a step by step approach to the process of negotiation, and provides strategies for success.

After taking this course, you’ll be able to:

  • Recognize situations where negotiation is possible or useful.
  • Identify and be aware of compliance gaining tactics.
  • Develop a plan for negotiating with sellers, creditors, or others.
  • Understand consumer rights, when you should consider finding someone to negotiate on your behalf, and what to look for in that person.
  • Apply this information to your work with clients through reflection on a case example.
