Welcome to the Human Services Financial Health Professional Certification Program. This online course is one of several online components in this program. The topic of this course is Credit, Debt & Lending.
In this course, we’ll discuss the credit and lending industry and how it impacts our daily lives in a wide range of areas. This course attempts to demystify the credit process, develop an understanding of the credit industry, and address the issues of debt that frequently result from use of credit.
After taking this course, you’ll be able to
- Define credit, debt and lending practices
- Understand the impact credit and debt have on various aspects of our lives today, including employment, housing, and saving
- Recognize the processes that helped to “normalize” the levels of debt that exist in this country today
- Identify strategies for building, maintaining and repairing credit
- Apply this information to your work with clients through reflection on a case example
