Welcome to the Human Services Financial Health Professional Certification Program. This online course is one of several online components in this program. The topic of this course is Planning and Saving. In this course, we’ll discuss budgeting, and the importance of financial planning for saving, stability, and meeting our financial goals.

After taking this course, you’ll be able to:

  • Understand the reasons for financial planning and why people find it difficult
  • Put together a budget you can live with
  • Save money when you “have no money to save”
  • Overcome barriers to saving by putting together a workable savings plan
  • Help your clients plan and save, especially to cushion the cliff effects of transitioning from benefits to earned income
